About this site

Ζεὺς ἦν, Ζεὺς ἐστίν, Ζεὺς ἔσσεται· ὦ μεγάλε Ζεῦ

This site will host a collection of sacred texts translated into the Klingon language.

The translations on this page are the work of Michael Kounenos, and the sole purpose of these translations is to have fun with and enjoy the language.

However, although the translations take place for fun, “fun” doesn’t mean “sloppy and/or careless”, and it certainly doesn’t mean “intentional disregard of the rules of the language”. On the contrary, every effort has been made to avoid any grammar/vocabulary mistakes, and also for everything posted to be up-to-date with knowledge revealed at the latest qep’a’mey/qepHommey.

The translations on this page aren’t based on the original texts; they are translations of the original texts, and every effort has been made to adequately express them. They are not translations corrupting the original texts, by expressing events “as a klingon would see them”; they are translations of the original texts, expressing the events described, in the way their original authors intended them to be described.

Finally, for those who may not know, Klingon is the language created by Marc Okrand for the Klingon race of the Star Trek Franchise, and I strongly encourage anyone interested in it, to buy “The Klingon Dictionary”, “The Klingon Way”, and “Klingon For The Galactic Traveler”. Star Trek™, Klingon™ and related names are trademarks of CBS Corporation and Paramount Pictures.
